Private tutoring for
the student’s actual coursework.
Work one-on-one with Chris on real assignments, difficult concepts, and course goals, with focused instruction and written next steps.
Tutoring experience
Direct instruction with custom follow up.
Chris began tutoring mathematics at Brazosport College in 2011. His background includes Stanford study in Human Biology, Computer Science, chemistry, and Structured Liberal Education, plus work in web, UX, product design, and AI-assisted educational publishing. Each session uses that breadth to explain the current material clearly and build useful next steps for the learner.
Subjects taught
Mathematics, science, computer science, writing, and academic planning.
The course, topic, and level are confirmed before booking so every student receives support within the tutor’s current expertise.
Mathematics
Algebra through calculus, plus geometry, trigonometry, probability, statistics, and quantitative reasoning. Chris began tutoring high school and college students at the Brazosport College Student Success Center in 2011 while completing college coursework during high school.
Biology and chemistry
Cell biology, genetics, physiology, ecology, metabolism, experimental reasoning, general chemistry, reactions, equilibrium, and acids and bases. The teaching draws on interdisciplinary Stanford coursework in Human Biology and chemistry, with source-grounded diagrams and worked explanations.
Computer science and AI
Programming foundations, computational thinking, debugging, project design, web development, and practical AI use. Chris studied computer science at Stanford and has built web, UX, product, automation, and AI-assisted educational publishing systems.
Reading, writing, and humanities
Analytical reading, grammar, essay structure, evidence, research, presentation, and English-language support. The approach draws on Stanford’s writing-intensive Structured Liberal Education program and experience translating complex systems into clear public explanations.
SAT, AP, and course preparation
SAT Math, AP readiness, timed practice, study planning, and correction of recurring errors. Chris was the 2012 Brazosport High School valedictorian and an AP Scholar; the exact exam, course, and learner level are confirmed before booking.
College planning and academic projects
Course planning, study systems, personal statements, portfolios, research projects, and interdisciplinary builds. The work is informed by first-generation college navigation, Stanford’s inaugural Leland Scholars cohort, and college-readiness mentoring.
What tutoring includes
Receive written next steps and custom learning materials after the session.
During the session, we teach through current coursework and identify any missing foundation affecting the student’s progress. Afterward, the student receives a written summary and useful follow up material such as a booklet, worked examples, a visual map, a practice set, or a study guide.
Send the real situation
Grade, current class, goals, schedule, recent work, and what the student avoids or enjoys.
Work through the current material
The tutor teaches, observes, tests explanations, and identifies the most useful next step.
Take home a custom learning packet
When useful, the session becomes a short booklet, worked example, visual map, practice set, or study guide built for that learner.
Keep the support line open
Questions may be submitted any time. Member phone and chat support is first come, first served as availability allows, with a visible next step for the family.
